Anyone tips on getting rid of animal smells? :57:

I have found this:

Fill a spray bottle with plain vinegar. Add five to 10 drops of essential oils if you like, such as lemon, lavender, or vanilla. Spray the vinegar around the house.

Or:

Add 50g of baking soda to a spray bottle and fill it with water. Shake well and spray liberally.

Apparently vinegar and baking soda are the best odour absorbers.

I will second the vinegar tip! I also add plain vinegar to the washing machine for laundering towels. I don't have dogs, but I have teenage boys & our towels smell like musty wetness! yuck. You won't believe how fresh the towels are afterwards!

PS: I love the house elf image....I was hoping for an actual elf we could pass around & make it do our chores...

Oh, wouldn't that be lovely. A real little elf. Hm.

In the meantime... how much vinegar in the washing machine, Mz Knitty? I'm thinking boys' gym clothes...

About 1/2 to 3/4 cup (so maybe 6 to 9 ounces?)...I also add a little bit of detergent, but the vinegar does all the work in there....

I just love that! Dee and Lori thank you!

These tips can be life savers in moments of frustration. I sometimes bake a lemon meringue pie and having lots of juice come of those beautiful lemons (sometimes limes) is a great gift.

I got a new oven that is not installed yet. I will let you know about the lemon juice yield when I get the chance to bake the next lemon pie in the new oven.

This is for the Elfs  :72:

DROOL!! That pie looks amazing-I would give my eyebrows to taste your lemon pie, DF. I haven't found a good lemon meringue pie since my Grandma died. If we ever meet, this pie making is a priority!!😂

Seems like white vinegar is the answer to most anything... (P.S. NR love the little elves gif!)

If you do add a bit of detergent (which isn't necessary) make sure it doesn't contain bleach-LOL

Crikey I can't catch up...
yes glad Lori clarified the type of vinegar - I guess malt just wouldn't be the same eh?

I will definitely be trying the vinegar in the laundry - don't you add anything else?
Thanks to all for "Smell solutions" and the rest for that matter. :08:
