What a fantastic building! Absolutely no attempt to symmetry!!! Yay! Gorgeous structure. I love all the arched windows too. And the remains of the fresco... so precious. It's really hard to see all this go to waste.

Amazing NR - it is such a grand looking building and what would appear to be in such a beautiful place - the view through those glass doors is breath-taking and I love the wrought iron work you can just see. I also love the bits of stain-glass - glass can be so beautiful, even small stained panels add to the colours and the play of the light.
Interesting no-one has bought it and done it up. I presume it must be cheaper to create a new build than re-vamp an old!

Yeah, Dee, I noticed the asymmetry, too. Just makes it all the more interesting. (Doesn't stop me from wanting to even it out on the other side of the main building, though...LOL :57: )

And, yes, MC, you'd think a wealthy entrepreneur would snatch it up and make a beautiful hotel out of it----that location!! :72: ----but it must be beyond hope. Very sad....

These are brilliant! That dome looks fab from underneath. It is fascinating why their abandonment make them more special, but it so does!

I like them all and there is definitely something quite magical about the dome made up of all those small pieces of glass but I absolutely love the way that tree has just kept on growing - right through the roof. Wonderful!!! Thanks NR.

A stunning house we saw in Comillas, Spain, last summer...
