The wonderful Hannah Reid singing 'Rooting For You'. London Grammar might just be getting their own thread, me thinks...

Hm... it's only fair to listen to some boys again after all this Girl Power, right?

I adore Damon Albarn, he is such a multi-faceted artist. I loved Blur, but his other band, Gorillaz truly became one of the most exciting and original groups of our times, - for their first three albums anyway - , and then Damon's 'Everyday Robots' solo album is pure gold again. In between Damon has collaborated with African artists, written an opera... soundtracks for films, he's just forever experimenting and exploring new musical ideas.

This song is from the first Gorillaz album, called Gravity/Sound Check. It kind of showcases what I love about this group: the juxtaposition of dark, intense music with pure, angelic melodies and singing. So beautiful and exciting:

And another favourite from the second album 'Demon Days':

This song is from their second album
Demon Days.

I think there is a very good chance Damon is gonna get his own thread here eventually... There is so much of his music I love, but there is a fair bit left to explore as well. After Björk, he's gonna be my next music project. :)

These guys were just so much fun:

This still makes me smile, brings back fun memories of seeing this band at a festival with my son sitting on my shoulders, belting out all the songs to the great amusement of everyone around us.

And of course all the Coldplay we used to play. Hard to choose, but perhaps 'Clocks' would be great on the island. I adore Chris, but actually, I love the instrumental parts of this song best.
