Oh, that's a great modern interpretation! Who'd have though you could breakdance the Alaoui? :57:

It's interesting to see the original dance, it's similar to the Egyptian stick dance which I've seen before.

HAHA! I thought it was great because things need to evolve and there seem to be no limits to the human creativity.
I liked it a lot. I still love the traditional Alaoui too. It can be danced very dynamically.
It used to be danced during weddings and festivities in general (and still is if you like this kind of entertainment). The nice evolution was to see girls do that as it used to be danced by "Alaoui men dancers".
The girls did a really great job!

Nights In White Satin brings back so many feelings for me. A bit of hauntingly sweet forlorn love sung here. (Confession: My sisters and I used to come up with stories at night in the dark when we were supposed to be sleeping - complete with assigned characters and music. Nights In White Satin played a prominent role! :57: My main male character was named Davey and he was a whole lot like someone some of us love...HRS Mr. Salvatore. Fun-ish fact? My girl character was Lori which isn't a stretch as it is my middle name!)

I love songs that are of a time and bring back so much!
