2:A song (or two) you like with a number in the title
Of course.

So true! Simon and Garfunkel were everywhere in the '70's-their music still holds up today. Such delicate harmonies. The most powerful time travelling I do is with music! I love the image of the record player & all of you gathering together, listening to this album! That's a rich memory.
I have never heard the ABBA song or the Cat Stevens song and I really like them both! How did I escape childhood without hearing them?

Beautiful selections!
DF - I play a little rendition of My Lady D'Arbanville in the wee hours sometimes....
Ha! Seasons in the Sun. I remember tearing up over that one. (This was right around the time of the song Shannon by Henry Gross - another sad song eventually revealed to be about a dog.)
7 Seconds - sway and sway....

What a lovely set of songs to listen to this evening!
I didn't know Lady D'Arbanville. It's growing on me rapidly. Both versions are great. I might be more partial to the one with the richer instrumental texture.
I just sang along with Eva Cassidy in the bathroom, - thank you for that, Lori -, I adore her rendition of Over The Rainbow. It is such a sad song, truly.
And what a gorgeous recital of the 'Meditation from Thaïs'.
Such treasures!

10: A song that makes you sad
David Bowie makes me so very sad that sometimes I can barely handle it. But I adore him for it. How can I choose? One sad song leads to another...
Note to self: why don't we have a David Bowie appreciation thread yet? Hm?

Great song! It sounds vaguely familiar, too....from way back in the '90s!

Can't choose just one!
The Rain Song~LZ
Riders on the Storm~The Doors ( not a huge Doors fan, but the addition of the sound of rain/thunder gives this song such a moody vibe; I've always loved it...)
Only Happy when it Rains~Garbage ( nostalgic and I AM only happy when it rains...LOL...JK )
